Mar. 28, Bernini and Borromini, Architects of Baroque Rome. It is impossible to visit Rome and not feel the presence of these two artists who created in opposition to each other and their patrons. Learn how Borromin finally got his due in the age where Bernini was the Art Prince of Rome.
Apr. 25, Artemesia Gentileschi, Unearthing Genius. To be a genius woman painter in the Baroque Era was unheard of. This lecture focuses on Gentilleschi's life in her father's studio, her own work in the style of Caravaggio and how her genius was discovered.
May 23, Alice Neel, Painting it Like it Is. This 20th C portrait painted is known for her raw and gritty interpretations of know and lesser known people in her circle. Learn more about Alice Neel and her life in this lecture.
